GUIDELINES

To ensure the round table experience is beneficial to all participants steps have been taken to create a template that focuses discussion points around four specific areas. Participants are encouraged to structure submissions around these four discussion points. Submissions should be limited to a strict two-page maximum.

  1. Funding Priorities for P-12 and/or Higher Education
  2. Changes to Funding Formula for P-12 and/or Higher Education
  3. Pressing State Issues Affecting P-12 and/or Higher Education Funding
    • Any insights on the impact of COVID-19 on state education funding
  4. What are the major education human resources management initiatives (e.g., recruitment, retention, development, evaluation, salaries & benefits, retirement and workforce shortages) being funded by this year's state budget, if any?
  5. Exclusive to P-12: What are the alternatives to traditional public school offered by your state? What does the trend in funding look like for these alternatives?
  6. Total dollar amount for your state's per pupil expenditure (be sure to exclude local and federal funding)?
  7. Allocation of State dollars and percent of the State Budget for P-12 and HE (just a figure and percentage)

* We recognize that the legislative session will not be finished in most states by the time of the conference. We anticipate the presentation will be a work in progress. The final manuscript will be submitted after the sessions.

PRESENTATION

On the day of the round table, participants will be divided into small regional groups to ensure all have an opportunity to share what has been prepared around these four discussion points. All attendees of NEFA 2024 will have electronic access to all submissions.
